Sustainable wood core

Romp Skis are made to be as tough as possible while still remaining light and quick.  We start with sustainably grown poplar  cores.  These cores are vertically laminated right here in our Crested Butte factory for consistency and quality.

Sidewall

Romp uses Dura Surf ultra high molecular weight Polyethylene as side wall for unbelievable strength and durability.  This material stays flexible and very impact resistant even in extreme cold.

Bases

You will notice that Romp Skis all have black bases. Our bases are thick, strong, and take wax very well for the fastest most durable ski you can get.

Other Materials

Tri-axial fiber glass provides torsional stiffness and strength.  Romp uses a rubber foil vibration dampening system.  This allows the skis to be light and stable at high speed.  Carbon fiber is used in various ways in the skis to add stiffness and snap.
